I’ve created these flyers for a school activist project where I bring more attention to the women in history that have been forgotten or ignored. This blog will be an extension of those flyers where I post longer biographies of these women and other bad-ass women like them. Too often women’s achievements have been pushed aside, either by others in their lives, or else by the historians who choose to ignore them. This tumblr is dedicated to celebrating them and bringing their achievements to light!

What 20,000 fired-up Iowans look like.

So how do you get an epic pic of 20,000 Iowans? You ride 20 feet up in the air in a rickety forklift meant for press during President Obama’s last campaign speech ever.

Geniusly (not a word, but it should be) the event press advance team arranged for the lift to be onsite to take photographers up & down to get the shot of the President, crowd, and Iowa state capital. Since I was just taking a pic for social media, I had to wait my turn and let “the real press” go first.

It wasn’t until the end of the speech that I was able to climb on and have the operator take me up. And that shit was scary. It was jerky, it was wobbly, and it seemed to go up very high. I had horrible visions of dropping my phone over the edge & clocking some unsuspecting Iowan below. But I got a wonderful picture.

The Dutch web hosting service Cyberbunker has launched an online war against the anti-spam organization Spamhaus for blacklisting the company as a spammer earlier this month. According to the New York Times, Cyberbunker’s distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks have reached the unprecedented volume of 300 billion bits per second, making it one of the largest-scale DDoS attacks in history.
